    Zu der eigentlichen Frage: Wir empfehlen den Upgrade-Weg, anstatt manuell einzeln die Tabellen zu exportieren und zu importieren. Das verursacht nur unnötig Mehraufwand und ist zu fehleranfällig. Wenn man das Gefühl hat, die Datenbank ist kaputt, dann gibt es die Möglichkeit die Struktur zu reparieren.

    ISO-Zeichensatz

    Ab b1gMail 7.4.2 wird nur noch UTF-8 unterstützt. Daher muss deshalb die Konvertierung ins UTF-8 Format dringend durchgeführt werden.

    Sofern Sie eine ältere Version als 7.4.0 einsetzen:

    Die Speicherung der E-Mails auf Datenbank verursacht Zeichensatzfehler, weshalb die Dateisystemvariante am sichersten ist. Daher loggen Sie sich vor der Konvertierung in den Adminbereich ein, gehen Sie zu "Einstellungen" » "E-Mail" und stellen Sie sicher, dass die Mail-Speicherung auf "Dateisystem" eingestellt ist. Gehen Sie, auch wenn dies bereits der Fall war, dann zu "Tools" » "Optimierung" » "Dateisystem" und führen Sie die Funktion "Mail-Speicherung" (Datenbank -> Dateien) aus. Dies ist nötig, um sicherzustellen, dass sich keine E-Mails mehr in der Datenbank befinden, da diese Speichermethode ab Version 7.4.0-Beta1 entfernt wurde.

    Bei Update: Nach Ausführung der setup/update.php den "setup"-Ordner noch nicht löschen sondern erst setup/utf8convert.php ausführen. Ein wenig Zeit für die Konvertierung einplanen.

    UTF8MB4

    Neuinstallationen sind standardmäßig mit UTF8MB4, da die alte UTF-8 Implementierung von MySQL keine 4 Byte-Zeichensätze speichern kann. Beim Update von einer älteren b1gMail-Version: setup/utf8mb4convert.php ausführen. Ein wenig Zeit für die Konvertierung einplanen.

  • b1gMail 7.4.2 Release Candidate 2 veröffentlicht

    b1gMail 7.4.1 Release Candidate 2 steht nun zum Download auf https://github.com/b1gMail-OSS/b1gMail/releases bereit! Bei jeder Vorabversion: die Benutzung erfolgt jedoch auf eigene Gefahr. Sollte in 1-2 Monate keine signifikante Fehler mehr gemeldet werden, wird darauf eine finale Version erfolgen.

    Vor einem eventuellen Update unbedingt Datensicherung der Datenbank und des b1gMail-Ordners inkl. des data-Ordners anlegen!

    Änderungen 7.4.1->7.4.2-rc2

    Bekannte Probleme (seit 7.4.1):

    • memcached funktioniert aktuell nicht unter PHP 8 und höher
    • mysql 8 und höher wird aktuell nicht unterstützt
    • Rechnungsersteller funktioniert aktuell nicht

    Diese Version ist mit der letzten PHP-Version vollständig kompatibel.

    Neuinstallation

    Komplettpaket herunterladen. In serverlib die Datei config.default.inc.php in config.inc.php und version.default.inc.php in version.inc.php umbenennen.

    Update von b1gMail 7.4.0 und 7.4.1

    Die Dateien hochladen. Nach dem Upload /setup/update.php aufrufen.

    Alternativ: in serverlib die Datei version.inc.php löschen und version.default.inc.php in version.inc.php umbenennen und tools/db_sync.php aufrufen. In beiden Fällen muss der setup-Ordner danach gelöscht werden. Bei Update von b1gMail 7.4.0 oder früher, bitte Backup von serverlib/init.inc.php anlegen.

    Hinweise zur alten kommerziellen Version: Bitte auch b1gMail 7.4.1 veröffentlicht lesen.

    Hinweise

    • b1gMail 7.4.2 enthält zusätzlich auch das PremiumAccount und Fax-Plugin.
    • Falls b1gMailServer verwendet wird, nach dem Update bitte den Warteschleifendienst neu starten und sicherstellen, dass die neueste Version verwendet wird.
    • Um alle Funktionen auch in b1gMailServer nutzen zu können, bitte aktualisiere b1gMailServer zu der OSS version: https://www.github.com/b1gMail/b1gMailServer
    • Plugins von ehemals ThinkClever GmbH sind nun Open Source, aber nicht alle Plugins sind derzeit mit der neuesten Version kompatibel. Hier klicken, um zu schauen, ob eine 7.4.2-kompatible Version enthalten ist. Für CleverMailEncryption ist eine kompatible Version verfügbar.
    • Sofern die b1gMail-Installation noch im ISO-Zeichensatz / latin-Modus betrieben wird, muss eine Konvertierung ins UTF-8 Format vorgenommen werden, da ansonsten mit Zeichenfehler zu rechnen ist.
    • Diese Version wird mit der letzten verfügbaren CKEditor4 version geliefert. Es hat im Juni 2023 sein Lebensende erreicht und erhält zukünftig keine Updates mehr. Um weiterhin Updates für CKEditor zu erhalten, kann die kommerzielle LTS -Version von CKEditor4 genutzt werden. Alternativ auf CKEditor 5 aktualisieren. Unter https://ckeditor.com/docs/ckeditor5…ckeditor-4.html gibt es weitere Infos, wie von Version 4 auf 5 migriert werden kann.
    • Memcache ist in PHP8 nicht verfügbar. Wenn das unbedingt gebraucht wird, bitte teilt eure Code-Änderungen der Community mit. Ansonsten wechselt zu b1gMail-Cache-Manager.

    Einschränkungen gegenüber der alten kommerzielle Version:

    • Die Toolbox ist derzeit nicht verfügbar. Lizenzinhaber von der ehemals kommerzielle b1gMail-Version können den Dienst aber weiterhin nutzen, mehr dazu unten. Der vollständige Quelltext ist unter https://www.github.com/b1gMail/BMToolbox zu finden
    • Updatebenachrichtigung sind nicht verfügbar
    • Fax-Plugin: Da die proprietäre FPDI Parser Bibliothek nicht in einem GPL-Projekt ausgeliefert werden darf, wurde sie mit dem Update der FPDI-Klasse entfernt. Dadurch entfällt der Support für komprimierte PDF-Dateien. Wenn man das weiterhin braucht, muss eine Lizenz auf https://www.setasign.com/products/fpdi-pdf-parser/pricing/ erworben werden.

    Character sets

    Before converting, be sure to back up the database and files. No liability for data loss!

    ISO character set

    b1gMail 7.4.2 will not support the old ISO character set or latin1 anymore. You must convert to utf8 first.

    If you are using a version older than 7.4.0:

    Saving emails to database causes character set errors, so the file system variant is the safest. Therefore, before conversion, log into the admin area, go to "Settings" " "Mail" and make sure that mail storage is set to "File system". Even if this was already the case, then go to "Tools" " "Optimization" " "File System" and run the "Mail Storage" function (Database -> Files). This is necessary to make sure that there are no more emails in the database, since this storage method has been removed as of version 7.4.0-Beta1.

    When updating: After running setup/update.php do not delete the "setup" folder yet but run setup/utf8convert.php first. Allow some time for the conversion.

    UTF8MB4

    New installations always use UTF8MB4, because the old UTF-8 implementation of MySQL cannot store 4 byte character sets. When updating from an older b1gMail version: run setup/utf8mb4convert.php. You need a little time for the conversion.

    b1gMail 7.4.2 Release Candidate 2 is now available for download at https://github.com/b1gMail-OSS/b1gMail/releases! With every pre-release: use with own caution! If there is no any faulty reports, we will release the final release in 1-2 months.

    Before updating, please make a backup of the database and the b1gMail folder including the data folder!

    New installation

    Download complete package. In serverlib rename config.default.inc.php to config.inc.php and version.default.inc.php to version.inc.php.

    Update from b1gMail 7.4.0 and 7.4.1

    upload the files. After call /setup/update.php. Alternatively delete in serverlib the file version.inc.php and rename version.default.inc.php to version.inc.php and call tools/db_sync.php. In both cases the setup folder must be deleted afterwards. If you update from b1gMail 7.4.0 or earlier, make sure you have a backup of serverlib/init.inc.php.

    Notes

    • Before updating, please make a backup of your database and files. No liability for data loss!
    • b1gMail 7.4.2 requires at least PHP 7.2.
    • New installation requires at least MySQL / MariaDB 5.5.3. MySQL 8.x and higher is currently not supported ( except MariaDB ). We recommend MariaDB as Database Engine.
    • After the update please delete your browser cache
    • b1gMail 7.4.2 also contains the PremiumAccount and Fax plugin.
    • If b1gMailServer is used, please restart the queue service after the update and make sure that the latest version is used.
    • If you want use the new features also on b1gMailServer, please upgrade your b1gMailServer to the OSS version: https://www.github.com/b1gMail/b1gMailServer
    • Plugins from ThinkClever GmbH are now Open Source, but not all plugins is compatible. Check here to check if the plugin is compatible with 7.4.2. If you use CleverMailEncryption, there is also a compatible version to 7.4.2 in the provided link.
    • If the b1gMail installation is still running in ISO character set / Latin mode, you are required to convert to UTF-8 format, otherwise you could get charset problems.
    • This version is shipped on the latest CKEditor4 version which reached its end-of-life in June 2023. There will no more any updates.     Limitations compared with the old commercial version

    • The toolbox is currently not available. License holders of the former commercial b1gMail version can still use the service, see below for more information. You find the source code at https://www.github.com/b1gMail/BMToolbox
    • Update notifications are not available
    • Fax plugin: Since the proprietary FPDI parser library is not allowed to be shipped in a GPL project, it was removed with the update of the FPDI class. This removes support for compressed PDF files. If one still needs this, a license must be purchased at https://www.setasign.com/products/fpdi-pdf-parser/pricing/. Alternatively, the last commercial version of the fax plugin can be used if a license was purchased at that time.

  • Plugins von UNC sind Open Source

    UNC hat freundlicherweise seine Plugins für b1gMail 7 wiederveröffentlicht, diesmal als Open Source: https://github.com/pencil/unc-b1gmail-plugins . Vielen Dank dafür.

    Ich hab es direkt geforkt und für CleverMailEncryption erste Anpassungen für b1gMail 7.4.1 vorgenommen: https://github.com/Sebijk/unc-b1gmail-plugins . Aktuell funktioniert das ver/entschlüsseln von E-Mails, nur bestehende unverschlüsselte E-Mails vor der Installation klappt noch nicht.

  • b1gMailServer mit OpenSSL 3.4

    Ja, es bedeutet nur dass es auf Ubuntu 22.04 kompiliert wurde, aber höher geht immer. Das ist wegen CMake (musste glaub ich ab 3.18 sein) geschuldet. Auf alten Systemen führt es dazu, dass nicht ausgeführt werden kann und meldet dann version `GLIBC_2.33' not found. Also bei Debian geht es erst ab Version 12.

    Evtl. sollte bei Docker die Buildumgebung auf Debian 11 gesetzt werden, damit es auch noch da läuft. da ist cmake auf 3.18.4.

    Kannst du uns eventuell nen Tipp geben, was am 2fa-Plugin und ggfls. noch an der mobilen Version angepasst werden muss damit das funktioniert? Geht ja nur ums Login. Die Aktivierung soll weiterhin nur im UCP möglich sein.

    Dann wäre das System zumindest ein Stück weit sicherer. Wäre echt toll..
